We have an exciting Digital Services team opportunity for a Data Analyst, to work collaboratively across the Trust and wider NHS Wales, to provide transformative digital systems and insight‑led services. We are in an exciting period of change including an opening world‑class cancer centre and the Welsh Blood Service’s transformation of blood and transplant services. An ambitious digital strategy will revolutionise the way we deliver services, from co‑producing innovative technologies and embedding data & insight into everyday practice to improving services and outcomes.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary digital team to co‑produce user‑centred analytical solutions.
Support the delivery of analytical projects across Data & Insights, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Embed a user‑centric, agile ethos into ways of working and improve data literacy across the Trust workforce.
Develop analytical products that are easy to understand and use, and support informal skills transition.
Contribute to the Trust's digital strategy and participate in learning networks across the NHS and wider.
Qualifications
Degree level (Bachelor’s or higher) or equivalent experience in an analytical discipline such as operational research, systems dynamics, data science, mathematics, computer science, social science or similar.
Evidence of statistical and/or analytical training.
Knowledge of data management and governance processes (desirable).
Knowledge of analytical techniques for service or process design/redesign (desirable).
Experience
Working closely with customers and stakeholders.
Creating analytic products that turn data into insight.
Delivering analytical insight to a non‑technical audience.
Managing challenging timescales and competing priorities.
Testing software systems.
Experience of service planning and forecasting in the public sector (desirable).
Skills
Knowledge of a range of analytical techniques and their application to real problems.
Ability to interpret data and create reports.
Ability to communicate complex analytical findings appropriately.
Data curiosity with critical questioning and innovative thinking.
Active listening and tailoring communication to the audience.
Understanding of Agile methodology and service design principles (desirable).

Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards.
Job Details
Band 5 – Salary £31,516 to £38,364 per annum.
Permanent contract.
Full‑time, flexible working.
Locations: Whitchurch, Nantgarw, Talbot Green, Cardiff – CF15 7QZ.
