About The Role The Digital Marketing Officer is a key member of Yorkshire Cancer Research’s marketing team, responsible for developing and executing high-impact digital campaigns that support the charity’s objectives. This role focuses on supporter acquisition, engagement, and awareness through strategic paid media and compelling content creation. The officer will play a vital role in amplifying the charity’s message across various digital channels, ensuring campaigns are data-driven, targeted, and aligned with organizational goals. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end management of digital campaigns—from initial planning and channel strategy development to execution, optimization, and performance analysis. Collaboration with external agency partners and internal teams will be essential to ensure seamless campaign delivery and maximum impact.
Qualifications • Strong background in digital marketing with proven experience in managing multi-channel campaigns.
• Proficiency in paid media platforms such as Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and YouTube advertising.
• Solid understanding of analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and Google Tag Manager, to monitor performance and inform optimization strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and external agencies.
• Good understanding of tracking implementation, including pixels and consent management tools, to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
• Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple campaigns simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in marketing, digital media, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working within a charitable or non‑profit environment is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
Lead the creation and implementation of digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including fundraising, services, retail, and advocacy initiatives.
Develop comprehensive campaign plans that outline channel selection, content requirements, timelines, and budget considerations.
Manage the live delivery of campaigns, ensuring timely content updates and performance optimization based on real‑time data insights.
Oversee paid media activities, particularly through Meta Ads Manager, ensuring campaigns are targeted, effective, and within budget.
Manage relationships with external PPC agencies, continuously optimizing Google Ads and Google Grant accounts to maximize efficiency and identify new opportunities.
Utilize analytics tools to monitor campaign performance, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Implement testing strategies to refine campaign activity, improve engagement, and increase conversion rates.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure integrated campaign delivery aligned with organizational goals.
Stay updated on digital marketing trends and platform updates to ensure the charity remains at the forefront of digital engagement strategies.
