We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Detroit, Michigan. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials. This role requires precision, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts. You will ensure that inventory is handled with care and stored correctly, contributing to overall warehouse organization and efficiency. Maintaining equipment and adhering to all safety regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), are critical aspects of this job. We are looking for a reliable individual with a proven track record of safe forklift operation and a dedication to excellence in a fast-paced logistics environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any defects.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other inventory items within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers accurately and securely.
- Organize and stack inventory in designated areas, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from obstructions.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Follow all guidelines for safe operation in a busy logistics setting.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work different shifts if needed.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to operate machinery, climb on and off forklifts, and perform tasks involving frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 pounds. Consistent use of PPE is mandatory for safety.
