Join our busy logistics hub as an Order Picker in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is crucial for ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently fulfilled. You will be responsible for navigating the warehouse, locating specified items based on pick lists, and preparing them for the packing and shipping departments. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately are essential. This position requires a good understanding of warehouse layout and inventory management principles. We are committed to a safe work environment, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is expected. You will work closely with other team members to meet productivity goals and maintain the smooth flow of goods through our facility. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from inventory based on customer order tickets or electronic lists.
- Verify picked items against order specifications for correctness.
- Stage picked items in designated areas for consolidation and packing.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely to transport goods.
- Maintain organized pick paths and work areas.
- Assist in inventory cycle counts and verification.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or equipment issues to a supervisor.
- Contribute to achieving daily picking targets and overall team productivity.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support the logistics operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in order picking or warehouse environments is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift repeatedly.
- Capacity for lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic logistics setting.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Physical Demands:
The Order Picker role involves continuous movement throughout the warehouse, including walking, standing, and bending. Employees must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds. Adherence to all safety guidelines and the mandatory use of PPE are crucial for this role.
