We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, timely, and properly documented. You will be the gatekeeper for our logistics, coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping labels, and verifying order details. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to Safety are essential for success.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Verify accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping manifests.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the WMS.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
- Follow Safety guidelines and utilize appropriate PPE.
- Assist with Loading and unloading of shipments when necessary.
- Report any discrepancies or issues related to shipments to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and shipping software.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures and logistics documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform tasks that may involve moderate Lifting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workplace Safety.
