We are looking for a motivated Material Handler to join our team in Washington, D.C. This position involves the physical movement of materials, products, and supplies within the warehouse. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage locations, and ensuring materials are organized and accessible. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety are essential. This role is integral to our daily logistics flow, ensuring that inventory is managed efficiently and accurately. You will operate various equipment to move heavy items and maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials and products.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Physical ability to perform heavy Lifting and strenuous tasks.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
This role requires a proactive approach to material management and a deep understanding of logistics best practices. Ensuring the safety of yourself and others through proper handling techniques and the use of PPE is non-negotiable. Proficiency in heavy Lifting is a daily requirement.
