Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician for our bustling Chicago, Illinois facility. This role is essential for maintaining the optimal performance and safety of our warehouse operations and equipment. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring all machinery operates efficiently. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key duties include conducting safety inspections, performing preventative maintenance on equipment such as forklifts and conveyor systems, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime. You will work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure a seamless workflow. Some lifting and manual labor may be involved. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced individual who can contribute significantly to our operational efficiency and uphold our high safety standards within the logistics environment. Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of machinery and the facility.
  • Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including PPE usage.
  • Collaborate with operational staff to address equipment needs.
  • Operate equipment safely during maintenance and testing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse operations.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or Associate's degree in a related field preferred. Proven experience as a Warehouse Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar role. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Experience with a variety of warehouse equipment (forklifts, conveyors, etc.). Knowledge of safety protocols and the importance of PPE. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
