We are seeking a versatile Shipping & Receiving Associate for our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all outbound shipments and the efficient handling of inbound goods. You will be responsible for preparing orders for shipment, loading and unloading trucks, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. We are looking for reliable individuals with a strong work ethic and a commitment to Safety.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, verifying contents against shipping documents.
- Receive and inspect incoming goods, checking for damages and discrepancies.
- Enter shipping and receiving data into the company's logistics system.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular checks and cycle counts.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Ensure the dock area and warehouse are kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use all required PPE, ensuring personal and team Safety.
- Collaborate with team members to meet operational deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse roles is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including regular Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory/shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Dependability and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Commitment to Safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Understanding of logistics principles is beneficial.
