Join our vibrant team in Detroit, Michigan as a Picker/Packer! This role is essential for our daily logistics operations, focusing on efficiently and accurately fulfilling customer orders. You will be responsible for locating and picking items from our warehouse shelves according to order specifications, and then carefully packing these items for shipment. Accuracy, speed, and attention to detail are critical to ensure customer satisfaction. We foster a strong culture of Safety, and all employees are expected to adhere to established safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is a hands-on role that contributes directly to the success of our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders from warehouse inventory using pick lists or RF scanners.
- Verify picked items against order details for accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping cartons.
- Apply shipping labels and ensure packages are ready for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety guidelines, including proper Lifting techniques.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock put-away as directed.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, picking, or packing environment is a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Capability for regular Lifting of items up to 30 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.
