We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, managing stock rotation, and ensuring that inventory data is up-to-date in our system. This position is crucial for the efficiency of our logistics operations, as accurate inventory levels directly impact order fulfillment and operational planning. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all employees to adhere to safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices when necessary. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a warehouse setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Manage stock rotation (e.g., FIFO - First-In, First-Out) to minimize spoilage and obsolescence.
- Ensure accurate data entry for all inventory transactions.
- Identify and report damaged or expired stock.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of inventory storage areas.
- Assist in the implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Operate warehouse equipment as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, stockkeeping, or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of logistics principles and warehouse operations.
- Willingness to comply with safety regulations and use of PPE.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks as required, including occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
