Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Sacramento, California. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring that all goods are accurately received, inspected, and documented. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders, identifying damaged or missing items, and properly storing received goods. Maintaining an organized and safe receiving area is crucial. This position demands a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding our standards of quality and efficiency within the supply chain. You will work closely with vendors, warehouse staff, and management to ensure seamless operations. A dedication to safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive incoming shipments, verifying quantities and product information against purchase orders and invoices.
  • Unload trucks carefully, using appropriate equipment when necessary.
  • Inspect goods for damage or defects and document any issues.
  • Accurately enter received goods into the inventory management system.
  • Tag and label items appropriately for storage.
  • Organize and maintain the receiving area, ensuring it is clean, safe, and efficient.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments regarding discrepancies.
  • Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
  • Assist with inventory control and reconciliation as needed.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and moving inventory, with capabilities up to 40 pounds.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics setting.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Physical Demands:
This role requires prolonged standing and walking. Employees must be able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 40 pounds. Consistent adherence to safety regulations and mandatory use of PPE is required.
