We are hiring a Receiving Clerk to manage inbound shipments at our bustling Portland, Oregon facility. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring that all incoming goods are processed correctly and efficiently. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for many incoming logistics, making accuracy and attention to detail critical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, ensuring accuracy.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system accurately and promptly.
- Tag and stage received goods for further processing or put-away.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment as needed for moving incoming freight, following all safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring clear access for inbound and outbound logistics.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding Safety and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory checks and cycle counts as directed.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving matters.
- Understand and follow best practices for safe Lifting and material handling.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and basic computer proficiency. Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role is preferred. This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift up to 40 pounds. A commitment to a safe work environment and adherence to all safety protocols is mandatory.
