We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols. Your role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our inventory from the moment it arrives. You will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying packing slips against received items, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately recording all incoming inventory into our system. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this position. This role requires an understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. You will collaborate closely with other warehouse staff, including inventory control and shipping departments, to ensure a seamless flow of goods. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within the logistics industry. Regular use of required PPE is mandatory. Must be comfortable with lifting up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring clear access and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently as needed.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding inbound shipments.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
- Basic computer proficiency.
