Our Richmond, Virginia facility is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse inventory. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of inventory management, from receiving and put-away to cycle counting and physical inventories. You will be responsible for implementing and improving inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies, prevent stockouts, and reduce excess inventory. The ideal candidate will have a keen analytical mind, strong attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of inventory management systems and logistics. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage, tracking, and rotation of stock. Responsibilities include investigating inventory variances, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions. This role requires adherence to safety standards, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintaining an organized and safe work environment. This is a key position for optimizing our operational efficiency and ensuring product availability for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy in the WMS.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and the use of PPE.
- Tasks may involve occasional Lifting and physical inventory checks.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role. Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and WMS software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Experience in a logistics or warehouse environment. Commitment to safety and adherence to all guidelines, including PPE usage. Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting. Strong organizational and communication skills.
