About the Role The Digital Marketing Officer is a pivotal role within Yorkshire Cancer Research’s marketing team, responsible for designing and executing high‑impact digital campaigns that support the organization’s strategic objectives. The successful candidate will focus on paid media and content creation to bolster supporter engagement, drive fundraising efforts, and promote awareness of cancer‑related services. This role involves managing multiple digital channels, analysing campaign performance, and collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to ensure seamless delivery of marketing initiatives. Reporting directly to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Officer will lead the planning, implementation, and optimisation of digital campaigns from inception to completion. The role demands a proactive approach, utilising data‑driven insights to refine strategies and ensure maximum impact. The officer will also oversee relationships with agency partners, manage advertising budgets, and contribute to the development of innovative digital content that resonates with diverse audiences. The position is based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with some flexibility to work remotely.
Qualifications
Strong background in digital marketing with proven experience in managing multi‑channel campaigns focused on audience acquisition and engagement.
Proficiency in digital advertising platforms such as Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and YouTube advertising.
Solid understanding of analytics tools like Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and Google Tag Manager.
Experience in implementing tracking solutions, including pixels and consent management tools, with emphasis on compliance and data privacy.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Creative mindset combined with a strategic approach.
Degree in marketing, communications, or related field and relevant certifications in digital advertising or analytics (optional). Prior experience working in a non‑profit or charity environment is advantageous.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns across social media, paid media, and content marketing.
Create comprehensive campaign plans detailing channel strategies, content requirements, and delivery timelines.
Manage live campaigns by introducing new content, monitoring performance, and making real‑time adjustments.
Oversee paid media activities, particularly through Meta Ads Manager, ensuring efficient targeting aligned with fundraising and awareness objectives.
Coordinate with the charity’s PPC agency to optimise Google Ads and Google Grant accounts.
Utilise analytics tools to track performance, generate reports, and provide insights for future strategies.
Continuously test and refine campaign elements, including creative content and targeting parameters.
Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and stakeholders for integrated messaging.
Stay updated on digital marketing trends and platform updates, incorporating innovative tactics.
