We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities
*Essential Functions*
* Manages patients with the highest degree of independence in provision of patient care services with minimal physician supervision and in a highly specialized area and across the continuum.
* Ability to develops a diagnosis and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to formulate and implements the treatment plan.
* Surgically close wounds, incision and drainage, debridement, dressing with the surgeon in the room.
* Scrub with collaborating surgeon in operating room at both hospital and ASC.
* Performs complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as credentialed, in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
* Implements appropriate management based on laboratory results, physical assessment, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, admission and discharge care in accordance with evidence based medicine.
* Identifies, analyzes, and resolves patient care issues to foster significant improvement in patient care and outcomes.
* Dictates and documents in an accurate and timely manner.
* Performs patient education and maintains provision of preventive health services.
* Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
* Occasional weekend shifts when provider is on-call.
* Prescribe medication.
* Participates in quality initiatives to ensure consistent attainment of key quality indicators.
* Acts as an advanced resource for the specialty area.
* Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Fort Walton Beach policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
* Maintains compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.
* Round with provider as needed
*Other Related Functions:*
* Acts as a role model and resource person for staff.
* Participates in review and revision of policies and procedures.
* Establishes relationships with professional and other health-related groups within the community.
* Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, patients, and families.
Qualifications
*Education/Training *Graduate of accredited physician assistant program/nurse practitioner program.
*Licensure/Certification*
* Maintain current physician assistant licensure in State of Florida/Nurse Practitioner licensure in State of Florida.
* Maintains BLS certification.
* Maintains ACLS, NRP certification as required by department.
*Previous experience surgical and/or critical care preferred.*
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $102,596.46 - $123,557.02 per year
