Embedded Solution Architect - Tax Technology Join Sovos, a global leader in tax compliance, to build impactful solutions that transform compliance into growth.
Responsibilities Technical Discovery & Integration Design
Lead technical discovery sessions to understand partner systems, data flows and requirements
Design integration approaches using REST APIs, webhooks, cloud‑native and event‑driven patterns
Recommend authentication and security methods (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys)
Define data synchronisation, error handling and performance best practices
Set up testing frameworks, monitoring and performance alerts for partner integrations
Partner Enablement & Relationship Management
Act as the main technical contact for assigned ISVs and embedded partners
Build strong relationships with partner engineering and architecture teams
Deliver onboarding guidance and best practices for using Sovos’ products
Advise partners on technical choices influenced by compliance and regulatory needs
Support, Troubleshooting & Optimisation
Handle standard technical support queries directly with partners
Work with senior architects on complex or high‐impact issues
Analyse partner usage to identify performance improvements and integration risks
Support partners through technical milestones and readiness assessments
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Compliance and Business Development
Share partner insights to influence product roadmap and prioritisation
Provide technical input on new partner evaluations and expansion opportunities
Qualifications Technical Experience
5–10 years in a customer‑facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, TAM, Professional Services)
Strong hands‑on experience with REST APIs, microservices, cloud platforms and CI/CD
Familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP, monitoring tools (Postman, Datadog) and modern integration practices
Experience working with ISVs, software partners or embedded integration models
Knowledge of tax compliance, e‑invoicing or ERP systems is helpful but not essential
Business & Interpersonal Skills
Excellent communicator able to translate technical concepts clearly
Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple partner engagements at once
Problem‑solver with a proactive, partner‑focused mindset
