We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role is crucial for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring timely loading and unloading of trucks. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of operating various types of forklifts. You will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Perform routine checks on forklift equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to established work schedules and productivity targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in logistics operations.
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding workload and priorities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts is required, with certification preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
