We are seeking dedicated and reliable Order Pickers to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently retrieving products from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. This is a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive the correct items in a timely manner. You will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing a pick-to-light system or RF scanner to locate and gather items. Attention to detail is paramount as you will be responsible for verifying product codes and quantities before moving them to the packing station. Your commitment to safety and efficiency will directly impact our operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse locations based on order tickets.
- Utilize RF scanners or pick-to-light systems to guide picking process.
- Verify product codes and quantities for accuracy.
- Transport picked items to designated staging or packing areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Meet or exceed daily picking quotas while maintaining high accuracy standards.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with inventory or orders to a supervisor.
- Properly use and maintain assigned equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including strict adherence to safety protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be comfortable with lifting up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is preferred. Ability to read and understand pick tickets and inventory labels. Basic math skills for quantity verification. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. This role is physically demanding and requires regular lifting. Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles is a plus.
