We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Portland, Oregon. This position is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our logistics facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and assist with other warehouse tasks. Safety is paramount in this role, and adherence to all operational procedures is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock placement and organization.
- Follow all Safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring clear pathways.
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
- Support other warehouse associates with material handling needs.
- Ensure all movements comply with logistics and shipping schedules.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs) when necessary.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and WMS is a plus.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Must wear appropriate PPE, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses.
