Our Kansas City, Missouri location is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is fundamental to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, directly impacting our logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. Your primary responsibilities will include performing cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, managing stock levels, and implementing robust inventory control procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid understanding of inventory management principles within a fast-paced logistics environment. You will leverage our Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory movements and ensure data integrity. We prioritize a safe working environment, and strict adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory. The successful candidate will be proficient in data analysis and reporting, providing key insights to management. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records within the WMS.
- Monitor inventory levels, forecast needs, and recommend adjustments to optimize stock.
- Develop, implement, and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, turns, and other key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Ensure proper organization and storage of all inventory items to prevent damage or loss.
- Follow all safety protocols, including appropriate lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in inventory control or warehouse management is required.
- Proficiency with WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
