Our Richmond, Virginia location has an opening for a diligent Shipping Clerk. This critical role supports the outbound logistics process by preparing shipments, verifying orders, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. You will work closely with carriers, warehouse staff, and customers to facilitate the efficient and timely dispatch of goods. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are essential to ensure that every shipment is processed correctly and meets all regulatory and company standards. Your contribution is vital to our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation for outgoing shipments.
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping manifests to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide status updates to relevant parties.
- Ensure all shipments comply with shipping regulations and company policies.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Communicate with warehouse associates to ensure timely preparation of shipments.
- Operate shipping software and equipment efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and the correct use of PPE in the shipping area.
- Assist with other logistics and warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform some lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and logistics.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and the use of PPE.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
