We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage incoming shipments at our Houston, Texas facility. This role is essential for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring that all received goods meet our quality standards. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for inspecting deliveries, documenting discrepancies, and processing incoming inventory into our system. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to **safety** are paramount. You will work closely with vendors, delivery drivers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient receiving process. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Document any damages, shortages, or overages accurately.
- Enter receiving information into the inventory management system promptly.
- Stage received goods for appropriate departments or storage locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Adhere to all company policies and **safety** guidelines, including the proper use of PPE .
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents.
- Experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including **lifting** up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace **safety**.
