Join our bustling warehouse in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a Shipping & Receiving Associate! This vital role is at the heart of our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods into and out of our facility. You will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes unloading delivery trucks, inspecting incoming goods for damage or discrepancies, verifying packing slips, and staging items for storage or outbound shipping. You'll also be involved in preparing shipments for carriers, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. Safety is paramount in this role, and adherence to all procedures is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Unload and receive inbound freight, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or shortages.
- Accurately document all received and shipped goods.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare outbound shipments, including staging, loading trucks, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receiving and shipping procedures.
- Keep the receiving and shipping areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, internal departments, and management regarding shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations preferred.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs regularly, and standing/walking for extended periods.
- Proficiency in using hand-held scanners and basic computer skills for data entry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
- Understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
