We are hiring a meticulous Receiving Clerk for our busy distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is the first point of contact for incoming goods and is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the integrity of our supply chain. You will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and processing all incoming shipments, verifying them against purchase orders, and preparing them for distribution or storage. Accuracy, organization, and a commitment to safety are paramount. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong data entry skills, and a solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. Join our dedicated team and contribute to the seamless flow of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from various carriers.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, and discrepancies.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system (IMS).
- Tag and label incoming materials as required.
- Move received goods to appropriate staging or storage areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate any receiving issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and ensure the proper use of PPE.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and experience with inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to perform moderate physical work, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Understanding of warehouse safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
