Business Development Manager – Manchester (Waste Management & Manufacturing) An award winning business in the waste management industry is looking to recruit a talented Business Development Manager to cover the South Manchester area with immediate effect.

The Candidate
Field sales experience working for a mechanical ventilation company.
Stable and consistent employment track record.
Strong sales acumen – proven ability to generate leads, close deals, build and maintain long‑term client relationships and achieve sales targets.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence key decision‑makers.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage a complex sales process.
Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and able to work independently.
Full, clean UK driving licence with the ability to travel regularly within the designated region.
Consistent employment track record in a Business Development/Sales role.

Responsible for identifying, securing, and managing profitable sales opportunities across Northern England.
Working primarily through M&E contractors and developing market share across the region.
Key Responsibilities (General)
Proactively generate new business through targeted outbound outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn.
Research organisations and key decision‑makers to uncover opportunities and match customer needs with suitable solutions.
Qualify inbound leads through discovery calls and route them to the appropriate account managers.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all prospecting activities and lead progression.
Collaborate closely with Account Managers and Marketing to maximise conversion rates.
Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and virtual meetings to create new business opportunities.
Provide ongoing feedback to the commercial team regarding lead quality, market trends, and the effectiveness of campaigns.
Build and maintain professional relationships with all introductory sources in the credit hire, broker, and insurance sectors.
Generate new business to meet personal targets set by the company.
Increase enquiries by establishing relationships with SME business introducers.
Handle new business enquiries with turnovers between £1,000,000 and £3,000,000.
Prepare and submit new business files to the credit committee.
Act as an ambassador for the bank's vision to support people in life and business.
Key Requirements (General)
Proven experience in business development across waste management, mechanical ventilation or industrial manufacturing sectors.
Strong background in credit hire, broker, and insurance distribution.
Experience working with insurance providers and a solid understanding of broker distribution and regulatory expectations.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Self‑motivated with a results‑driven approach.
Proficiency in using CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of invoice finance & asset‑based lending legal implications.
Experience in reading and understanding financial information and projections.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
High level of commercial awareness.
Experience in motor, taxi, or specialist insurance lines is a plus.
Interest in digital distribution or insurtech solutions is a plus.
Job Offer & Benefits
Competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £35,000+ per annum, with uncapped bonus potential and a car allowance package.
