*JOB DESCRIPTION*
* Direct the day to day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long term care facility.
* Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
* Participate and cooperate with any facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
* Participate in implementation of the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing department.
* Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required providing information to assure continuity of care.
* Makes daily resident visits to observe and evaluate physical and emotional status.
* Makes rounds with physician and records visits in the medical record.
* Ensures that all staff follows the Not No But How concept.
* Ensure that resident rights are followed.
* Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information (HIPPA).
* Answer telephone calls when necessary.
* Performs other duties as required
