Power is the foundation of our city's technology Join our IT team as a Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst and lead the way in secure, reliable systems.

As part of the Information Technology team, the Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst (Tier 3) works with other IT business system and infrastructure analysts, as well as vendors, to implement new IT infrastructure, maintain existing systems, resolve problems, and provide advanced support to internal clients and IT Helpdesk staff. This role is responsible for planning, design, implementation, administration, and security of information technology systems of varying complexity, with a focus on networking, server administration, and cloud services. 

Qualifications Required:

Education

  • University degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 3+ years of recent progressive experience as an Infrastructure Analyst, OR Community college diploma in a related IT discipline with 5+ years of recent progressive experience as an Infrastructure Analyst involving support and maintenance of core infrastructure. 
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. 
  • Fortinet Network certification (NSE 4 or higher). 

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience. 
  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols, firewall management, and server administration. 
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud infrastructure. 
  • Experience with VMware, vCenter, and virtual servers, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, MS SQL Server, FTP/SFTP, file servers. 
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, Domain Controllers, DHCP, and DNS. 
  • Fortinet firewalls, switches, wireless, management platforms; firewall policy, SSL VPN. 
  • Backup systems monitoring/testing, server patching, virus scanning, vulnerability scanning. 
  • Experience with Cohesity backup solutions. 
  • Familiarity with MS Intune, MS security services including Defender, BitLocker, and Sentinel SEIM.  
  • Participation in on-call rotation (approximately every five weeks). 
  • Standard office hours with occasional evenings/weekends based on organizational needs. 
  • On-call rotation for after-hours support. 

What You'll Do:

  • Liaise with users, IT team members, and vendors to implement new systems and troubleshoot existing systems. 
  • Implement and configure new solutions to meet business system and security requirements. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with servers, network, and cloud infrastructure systems. 
  • Administer and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routing, wireless). 
  • Manage Windows Server environments, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related services. 
  • Implement and support Azure cloud infrastructure (IaaS, Azure AD, MS MFA, Exchange Online). 
  • Monitor and maintain system backups and disaster recovery solutions. 
  • Monitor network services and alerts and perform vulnerability scanning. 
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation; follow technical documents and work instructions. 
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support and technical guidance to junior staff.

  • Technical expertise: advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex infrastructure environments, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues in networking, servers, and cloud systems. 
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required. Clear and professional communication with internal clients, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring technical information is conveyed in an accessible manner; please state your language capability. 
  • Analytical thinking: Capacity to evaluate risks, anticipate potential challenges, and design proactive solutions that strengthen system reliability and security. 
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team, providing Tier 3 escalation support and mentoring junior staff.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to evolving organizational needs, including participation in on-call rotations and occasional evening/weekend work.
