Job Description
Our client, a well-established, reputable, and continually growing organization client is seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join their group based in either Dartmouth, NS or Saint John, NB. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries for fixed assets, general ledger postings, and reconciliations
- Post depreciation and month-end acquisition reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow monitoring
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for financial statements
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual audit
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as required by senior accounting staff or management
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- 3 - 5+ years of experience in a related role
- Post-secondary education in accounting, business, or a similar field
- CPA designation in progress is considered an asset, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong general computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Able to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
- Team-oriented and eager to contribute to a positive work environment
