Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional looking for a stable role? Our company is seeking a Receiving Clerk for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this position, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming goods. Your duties will include unloading delivery trucks, inspecting incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies, verifying contents against purchase orders, and accurately stocking received items into inventory. Safety is a core value; you must strictly adhere to all warehouse safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This role requires physical stamina for tasks involving Lifting, excellent record-keeping skills, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of our inventory within the broader logistics framework.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and containers.
- Inspect received goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Verify incoming inventory against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record all received items into the warehouse management system.
- Stock received items in appropriate warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or logistics preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
