We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is essential for ensuring that our products reach customers on time and in perfect condition. Your primary duties will include preparing outgoing shipments, accurately documenting all shipping activities, and coordinating with our shipping partners. You will be responsible for creating shipping labels, verifying order contents, and ensuring packages are properly sealed and addressed. A strong commitment to safety is required, including the diligent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to all warehouse safety regulations. This position demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with various shipping carriers and logistics software is beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments for dispatch.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure correct addressing.
- Verify package contents against sales orders and packing slips.
- Coordinate with carriers for shipment pickups.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and records.
- Monitor inventory of shipping supplies and restock as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Communicate with customer service and sales departments regarding shipping status.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as required to support logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and shipping software.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols is essential.
