We are actively recruiting a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this crucial role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing all goods entering our facility. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are vital for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring a smooth flow of operations. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Accurately document all received items in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label incoming inventory appropriately for storage or distribution.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to supervisors and relevant departments promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory control tasks, such as cycle counts, as needed.
- Safely manage the Lifting and movement of incoming goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic data entry skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including Lifting items up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all guidelines.
- Understanding of general logistics processes.
