Join our dynamic team as a certified Forklift Operator in our state-of-the-art distribution center located in Atlanta, Georgia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the warehouse. Your expertise in forklift operation and your commitment to safety will be paramount to maintaining smooth logistics flow and ensuring the integrity of our inventory. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets, materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately, ensuring proper placement of goods.
- Stack and retrieve materials from warehouse racking systems.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues or maintenance needs immediately.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of colleagues.
- Assist in maintaining an organized warehouse, including clear aisles and proper storage of inventory.
- Accurately record movement of goods using scanners or other inventory tracking systems.
- Participate in inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Support the overall logistics and shipping/receiving operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Proficiency in operating multiple types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity targets.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of proper lifting techniques and safe material handling.
