We are seeking an energetic Material Handler to join our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. This position is vital for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse and logistics network. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials throughout the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, and preparing items for dispatch. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You will work as part of a dedicated team, contributing to the overall productivity and success of our distribution center. Excellent organizational skills are essential for managing inventory and ensuring timely order fulfillment. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming materials.
- Accurately stock and store materials in designated locations.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely.
- Retrieve materials for orders and prepare them for shipment.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Load and unload trucks as required.
- Ensure proper labeling and packaging of all materials.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow team members to meet operational targets.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to perform demanding physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Experience with material handling equipment is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of basic logistics and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines and using required PPE.
