Job Summary:
Our Sacramento, California location is seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dedicated logistics team. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying package contents, and ensuring that all shipments meet company and carrier requirements. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and Logistics is essential. You will work closely with warehouse staff to ensure seamless order fulfillment. Maintaining a safe work environment is a top priority, and adherence to all Safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE , is mandatory. While this role is primarily administrative, there may be occasional requirements for light Lifting or moving of packages to facilitate shipping. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses excellent communication skills, and is proficient in using computer systems for tracking and documentation. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documents.
  • Verify order contents against shipping manifests before dispatch.
  • Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL carriers).
  • Track shipments and provide updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and files.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and carrier representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Adhere to all workplace Safety guidelines and utilize appropriate PPE when necessary.
  • Perform light physical tasks such as moving packages, which may involve some Lifting .
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency of the Logistics department.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related administrative/logistics role.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems (e.g., MS Office, WMS).
  • Knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and carrier requirements.
  • Understanding of basic Logistics principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to workplace Safety and proper PPE usage when applicable.
  • Ability to perform occasional light Lifting (up to 25 lbs).
