We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse by managing the flow of materials. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, organizing, and transporting goods throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to Safety. This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting. Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies.
- Store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper organization and stock rotation.
- Use pallet jacks and other equipment to move materials efficiently.
- Prepare materials for outgoing shipments, including staging and labeling.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment, adhering to Safety standards.
- Assist with inventory control activities, such as cycle counts.
- Follow all established Safety procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure operational efficiency.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform regular Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to following all Safety guidelines.
- Proficiency in operating manual material handling equipment.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
- Willingness to wear all required PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
