Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, managing inventory records, and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and overstock situations. A strong focus on safety is maintained, requiring all personnel to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all established safety protocols. If you possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in inventory management within a logistics environment, this is an excellent opportunity. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure efficient inventory flow and contribute to the overall operational success of our distribution center. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain and update inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate potential shortages or excesses.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize required PPE.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse or logistics setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
