Overview
Junior DevOps Engineer role at FLOX (London). You will help build and maintain the tooling, automation, and cloud infrastructure that power our products. You’ll work closely with software engineers, ML engineers, and senior DevOps/Platform teammates to support deployments, reliability, observability, and SOC 2 compliance. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real production systems and grow into a key part of our platform and DevOps function. Base pay range

Help build and maintain the tooling, automation and cloud infrastructure that power FLOX products. Collaborate with software engineers, ML engineers, and senior DevOps/Platform teammates to support deployments, reliability, observability, and SOC 2 compliance. Learn and contribute to production systems; be mentored by senior engineers and grow into a key part of the DevOps function. What You’ll Get

What You’ll Work On
Infrastructure & Cloud (AWS): Support deployment and management of AWS infrastructure (EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.). Infrastructure-as-code best practices (Terraform or CloudFormation). Kubernetes & Containerisation: Help manage and scale Kubernetes clusters; contribute to container build pipelines and debugging workloads. CI/CD & Automation: Maintain and improve Jenkins pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments; assist in building automated workflows for ML model training and deployment. Observability & Monitoring: Maintain and enhance monitoring/alerting with Prometheus and Grafana; contribute to dashboards, alert rules, and reliability metrics (SLIs/SLOs). Security & Compliance (SOC 2): Learn about and support SOC 2 controls; assist with audit readiness tasks, documentation, and evidence gathering. Reliability & Operations: Participate in triage and incident response with support from senior engineers; adopt DevOps/SRE best practices around reliability, automation, and quality. Tech Stack
Data: PTZ cameras, IoT sensors, and customer data sets; terabyte-scale data on edge and cloud; on-prem, cloud and edge compute. DevOps / MLOps / Software Development: Python and FastAPI; Kafka, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL; Docker; Kubernetes networking and service mesh; RKE2; RTMP, WebRTC, HLS, MPEG-DASH; Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Thanos; ELK; Jaeger; custom exporters; Jenkins, GitLab, Sonatype Nexus, Terraform, Ansible, Argo CD; AWS (primary) with GCP/Azure exposure; DVC, MLFlow, Airflow, Dagster, CVAT, Weights & Biases; data lakes/warehouse. Essential qualifications
1+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform, SRE, Cloud, or SysAdmin roles (or strong personal projects / internships / open-source contributions). Basic experience with AWS or another cloud provider. Familiarity with Kubernetes or containerisation concepts. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.). Scripting/programming proficiency (Bash, Python, or similar). Understanding of monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana. A mindset focused on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement. Strong willingness to learn and solve complex infrastructure problems. Nice to Have
Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or general security/compliance work. DevSecOps experience to support secure pipelines, security scanning, and compliance controls. Experience supporting ML/AI workflows (model deployments, pipelines, GPUs). Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools. Knowledge of Linux internals, networking and container runtime fundamentals.
