Founder of Elixir Advisory (UK) & Elixir Partners (UAE) About the Company Our client is a rapidly expanding commercial solar and energy optimisation business based in the North East of England. They specialise in delivering significant energy savings for UK businesses through commercial solar PV installations, advanced energy solutions, and reduced energy supply costs. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join the business and play a pivotal role in ensuring the companies ambitious growth plans are achieved.
About the Role The Sales Manager will be responsible for spearheading business development through both self generated and team performance. With approximately 70% of the role focused on self-generated new business through proactive networking and 30% on team leadership, this position suits a hands‑on, commercially sharp sales leader who thrives in a fast‑paced growth environment. You will manage a team of 3 Business Development Managers and 1 Bid Writer, guiding them to exceed revenue targets while personally driving high‑value opportunities.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Drive self-generated new business activity through networking, industry events, prospecting, and strategic outreach.
Manage and optimise the full sales cycle across energy supply, commercial solar, and energy‑saving solutions.
Work closely with the MD to shape sales strategy, forecasting, and commercial planning.
Monitor KPIs, pipeline performance, and team output to ensure targets are consistently met.
Support the Bid Writer and BDM team in structuring compelling proposals and tenders.
Build strong, long‑term relationships with clients, suppliers, and strategic partners.
Stay informed on industry developments, regulatory changes, and market opportunities.
Represent the business professionally at client meetings, supplier visits, and industry events.
Qualifications
Proven track record in B2B sales, with consistent success in exceeding revenue targets.
Experience managing and motivating a sales team in a commercial environment.
Strong business development skills with a proactive, self-generating approach.
Experience in the energy supply or renewable energy sector is highly advantageous.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic mindset with the ability to drive growth while maintaining a hands‑on sales approach.
Results‑driven, commercially aware, and confident operating in a fast‑scaling business.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Basic Salary: Upto £80,000 (depending on experience)
Electric company car
Hybrid working model (mix of office, home, and field-based activity)
