Hardware Support Engineer – Newbury, United Kingdom
Support the emulation of products from installation to service retirement. Install, diagnose, repair hardware and provide related support services. Maintain system uptime and improve reliability with all available resources. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Research and Development, Sales and Application Engineering teams in a global environment. Perform site surveys, unboxing, assembling hardware stack, loading software and initial checkout testing. Travel to customer sites on a regular basis and perform basic IT systems administration when required. Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in electronics or software engineering, or equivalent experience. Prior experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronics hardware. Experience with Linux OS and Microsoft Windows. Experience with high‑speed serial data technology and systems. Strong technical communication and analytical problem‑solving skills. Ability to follow technical directions verbally and in writing. Experience handling electronics parts with proper grounding procedures. Experience working directly with customers. Knowledge of server and network technology highly desired. Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel on short notice. Ability to work in remote customer locations and communicate with multidisciplinary teams. Physical strength: ability to move 50 to 70 pounds and work long hours in a lab/datacenter environment.
