- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday - 7:00am-3:30pm (hours and flexible work schedules)
A Brief Overview:
As the Manager of the Operating Room, you will assume a pivotal role in the coordination and management of patient care services within the Operating Room. You will lead a dedicated team of nursing and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and the efficient operation of the department. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction.
What you will do:
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to established clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality of care. Monitor patient care activities to maintain quality and safety.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including RNs, Surgical Techs, and other ancillary team members. Coordinate staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care. Address patient and family concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance efforts. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance patient outcomes.
- Efficiently manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, and equipment. Assist in budget planning and control expenses within the unit.
- Facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge. Keep abreast of the latest developments in healthcare.
- Oversee accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions in electronic health records.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures. Maintain a safe and sanitary patient care environment.
- Collaborate with other departments, including surgeons, case managers, and ancillary services, to coordinate patient care and optimize the patient experience.
What you will need:
- Bachelors Degree Nursing Required Or
- Masters Degree Nursing Preferred Or
- Masters Degree Health Administration Preferred
- 5+ Years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois. Required And
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Required And
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification Required
