Job Summary:
Our Detroit, Michigan location is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team. This role is critical for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load and unload materials, move inventory, and assist with order picking and put-away. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of forklift operation, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining an organized and productive work environment. Your expertise will ensure the smooth flow of products within our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
  • Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
  • Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock placement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
  • Ensure all movements of goods comply with established logistics and safety standards.
  • Adhere to safe lifting practices when handling goods.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding workflow and potential issues.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
  • Valid forklift operator certification.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to perform regular physical tasks, including lifting and material handling.
  • Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Familiarity with logistics operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
