A premier logistics company in New York City, New York, is looking for a certified Forklift Operator. This position is crucial for managing the flow of goods within our bustling urban distribution center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to safely move, stack, and retrieve inventory. Exceptional adherence to Safety protocols and efficient operational practices are paramount in this role. We require individuals with proven experience, a valid forklift certification, and the ability to handle demanding tasks. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse.
- Safely stack and store inventory in designated locations.
- Transport goods to and from various departments or shipping/receiving areas.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in inventory checks and assist with stock management.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and efficiency in our logistics operations.
- Operate other material handling equipment as needed.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of all material movements.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy Lifting tasks (up to 60 lbs).
- Thorough understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and work in varying conditions.
- Willingness to wear all mandated PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
