We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of all outgoing shipments. Your tasks will include preparing packages for shipment, coordinating with transportation providers, verifying shipment accuracy, and maintaining comprehensive shipping records. This position is essential to our logistics operations, ensuring that our products are dispatched correctly and arrive at their destinations as planned. Accuracy, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety are crucial. All employees are required to follow established safety protocols and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The role requires the ability to handle packages of various sizes and weights, involving regular lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Verify shipping information for accuracy and completeness.
- Schedule and coordinate with freight carriers.
- Ensure packages are correctly labeled, sealed, and loaded.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and documentation.
- Communicate with warehouse and sales teams on shipment status.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and use required PPE.
- Perform tasks involving frequent lifting and moving of items up to 45 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to lift and handle packages weighing up to 45 lbs.
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
