Base salary range: $116,262 – $127,078 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

The function also drives digital transformation, supports data-driven decision-making, and ensures compliance with regulatory and cybersecurity standards. Ultimately, IT plays a critical role in advancing the university's mission by leveraging technology to create a connected, efficient, and future‑ready academic environment.
About the opportunity UWA Technology enables teaching, research, and administration by providing secure, reliable, and innovative digital infrastructure and services. The Cyber Security Operations role focuses on monitoring, analyzing, and responding to threats, conducting proactive threat hunting, and managing vulnerabilities. Responsibilities include incident response, malware analysis, collaboration with IT teams, and maintaining awareness of evolving cyber threats.
About you Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience in information or cyber security. Demonstrated experience in security operations, including monitoring, analysis, and incident response. Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM platforms, including the ability to write or modify simple detection queries. Experience with Microsoft Defender or similar endpoint protection and response technologies. Broad understanding of infrastructure, platform, and cloud technologies.
Note A current National Police Clearance Certificate will be required by the successful applicant.
