Your next move: from hands-on engineer to trusted technical expert You’ve built years of expertise in UPS, batteries, and critical power systems. Now’s your chance to step away from the tools, keep your engineering brain busy, and play a bigger part in shaping solutions from day one.
Why this role stands out This is a global business with serious investment in R&D and an expanding footprint in the data centre market. You’ll work in a small, supportive UK team — but with the resources and innovation of an international leader. It’s the ideal role for an engineer ready to stop fixing faults and start shaping projects, while still using their technical expertise daily. And progression isn’t just a promise — the last person in this role is now the Sales Manager. From here, you could move into senior technical leadership, product management, or sales.
What’s on offer
£60,000–£80,000 basic depending on experience
£600/month car allowance
Around £10,000 annual bonus
25 days’ holiday + 10 UK bank holidays
6% employer pension contribution
Private Bupa healthcare
Life assurance, critical illness cover & income protection
Paid expenses for work trips
International product training in modern European facilities
What you’ll be doing
Acting as the link between sales, design, and project delivery teams
Translating customer needs into tailored UPS and data centre solutions
Preparing quotes and presenting solutions with confidence
Reading electrical drawings and specifications to inform designs
Coordinating with engineering, procurement, and product management
Producing BOMs, calculations, and supporting documents
Delivering technical training and representing the business at industry events
What you’ll need
Strong technical background in data centres, UPS, or other critical power environments
Ability to read and interpret electrical designs and specifications
Knowledge of UPS systems, batteries (Li-ion & VRLA), LV switchboards, and busways
Confident communicator with both technical and commercial stakeholders
Willingness to travel occasionally in the UK/Ireland and overseas for training
