Electrical Design Engineer - Fire Detection Systems Assystem, Bristol, England, United Kingdom
Hybrid role, typically three days per week, based at our Bristol (Aztec West) office. We can consider those within a commutable distance; relocation support may be offered.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining fire detection systems for a major nuclear project, ensuring technical accuracy, system integration, and full lifecycle compliance.
Produce and update documentation for fire detection systems
Design and verify control logic and interface configurations
Support system design, construction, and commissioning activities
Review and maintain safety, environmental, and operating specifications
Ensure full integration of 3D models and functional diagrams
Manage modification requests and validate technical feasibility
Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure design consistency
Qualifications and skills:
Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar discipline
Knowledge of fire detection and protection systems
Experience in system design, testing, or documentation development
Proven ability to review and manage technical documentation
Familiarity with BS 7671 and IEC 60909 electrical standards
Background in nuclear, power generation, or heavy industrial sectors
Proficient in design tools and engineering data systems
