Senior Network Engineer – Field-Based (Hybrid Working) – UK MSP Client Company Description Established over 18 years ago, a privately owned niche MSP serving specialised clients across the UK. The Role We Need Filled We’re looking for a "hands-on, senior network engineer" who: Has a genuine interest in networking (yes, we mean the type who tinkers with setups at home Balances technical depth with strong interpersonal skills, you can explain VLANs to a hotel manager as easily as troubleshooting Meraki SD-WAN with a CTO Thrives in field-based work across the UK, open to a trip to another country if ever required, with hybrid flexibility. Non-Negotiable Requirements UK residency (5+ years) with right to work or as a citizen – no employer sponsorship available Full UK driving licence (no provisional or foreign licences requiring conversion) Minimum 6yrs of customer facing networking experience Technical Must-Haves 1. Proven experience with: - Cisco Catalyst 2960, HP MS20/30, Meraki MR/28/36 series (and knowing which to deploy where) - Azure / hybrid cloud solutions (limited scope) - Multi-site network security design and upgrades 2. MSP background – field engineering experience essential (not just desk support) 3. Meraki expertise – from installation to complex troubleshooting (you and the dashboard are old friends) Personal Qualities 1. Problem-solver – noted for thorough documentation and peer-respected work 2. Communicator – adept at calming clients and simplifying tech for non-IT stakeholders 3. Team player – mentors juniors and shares knowledge proactively Certifications (Current or Expired) Base Requirement (One or More): CCNA CMCO (Meraki Certified Operator) Aruba ACA CompTIA Network+/Security+ Preferred Advanced Certs (Any of These a Plus): CCNP Enterprise + Cisco Wireless (300-425/430) Aruba ACMP/ACMX or HP ACSP/ACSE CMSS (Meraki Solutions Specialist) Security: CND, CISSP, Fortinet NSE 4, CWSP Why This Role Works: You’ll be the "go-to engineer" for diverse deployments (clients do vary in complexity scope and size) No silos because your versatility keeps critical systems running Growth supported – certs / learning encouraged post-onboarding Apply If You: - See yourself in the team description above - Can evidence MSP field experience in your CV - Want to work where technical curiosity meets real-world impact *Note: Recent graduates or desk-only support candidates won’t be the right fit.* Seniority level
