Our client is a leading designer, manufacturer, and installer of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions across the UK. Their portfolio includes solar PV, energy-efficient lighting, and integrated energy solutions for commercial, public sector, and healthcare clients.
With a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, the business is growing rapidly and is seeking a commercially minded, energetic sales professional to help drive new business and expand existing relationships.
Role overview
We are looking for a Commercial Sales Manager/Business Development Manager to generate and manage a pipeline of new business, deepen client relationships, and support the growth of renewable and energy efficiency solutions.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded, adaptable, and self-motivated professional who thrives in structured but evolving environments. You don’t necessarily need prior renewable energy experience - drive, aptitude, and credibility are highly valued.
Key responsibilities
Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline across commercial and public sector clients.
Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, including solar PV, BMS, and lighting projects.
Conduct consultative sales, delivering tailored proposals and solutions to meet client needs.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and specifiers.
Collaborate with technical and project delivery teams to ensure feasibility, pricing, and client satisfaction.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies.
Demonstrate initiative, asking thoughtful questions and conducting research to inform strategy.
Work independently while thriving within a structured sales and project framework.
Commercially minded with strong business development and sales skills.
Comfortable operating within a structured environment but adaptable to change.
Self-sufficient, proactive, and motivated to drive growth.
Able to ask insightful questions and engage clients with credibility.
Experience in energy, construction, building services, or technical sales is beneficial but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deliver results under pressure.
