What You’ll Do
Monitor the network using 'Eyes on glass' and other monitoring tools.
Receive inbound calls to the NOC (internal teams, 3rd parties, suppliers, partners).
Manage inbound and outbound access requests.
Triage network faults and alerts raised through Comarch, Sev-One, or Spark auto‑ticketing.
Raise Spark tickets and coordinate with appropriate support teams across Group Networks.
Triage fixed network faults.
Execute network repair actions per established playbooks, especially node and card faults.
Monitor change activity and support implementation teams with pre‑check and post‑check activities.
Support escalations to the Network Reliability Engineering team for non‑BAU IP network faults.
Act as a 24/7 operational contact point for network issues and incident coordination.
Coordinate BAU change management activities.
What You’ll Bring The ideal candidate is a network engineer with excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution. They are comfortable monitoring the network, supporting BAU change, and directly resolving incidents using CLI and network management tools. Effective communication and composure under pressure are essential, as is a willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and processes in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
Technical understanding of telecom networks across IP core, access, transmission, cloud, and ISP services.
Understanding of the functions and architecture of other network domains (voice, mobile, CDN).
Ability to interpret data from network monitoring systems and take appropriate action to resolve incidents.
Operational expertise in service provider network technologies such as Access, MPLS, IP routing, switching, network security (firewalls), and load balancing.
Professional‑level networking knowledge (e.g., CCNP, NSE) with competence in at least one major vendor, strong troubleshooting, documentation, and familiarity with automation/monitoring tools.
Experience with telecom change and incident management processes.
Strong team ethic in an unpredictable operational environment.
Team Overview The Service Reliability team is responsible for the 24/7 operation of Sky’s telecoms network. It provides the primary 24/7 service desk for Group Networks, routing incident tickets both within the department and to other on‑call support teams across Group Networks. The department directly executes playbooks for problem resolution within the Access and IP network domains.
